My Radio Podcast Interview Debut!

Updated: Jan 12, 2020

I did something totally fun and different last month.... a radio interview!

To let you in on a little secret...one of my dreams growing up was to go into broadcast journalism... specifically, I wanted to become a TV news anchor. : )

So doing this radio interview (on Grace Space Christian Coaching, nonetheless), was pretty special! Give it a listen, and let me know what you think!

Below is a Q&A that I thought might be fun to include (some questions are covered in the interview), to learn more about coaching and me (hopefully, your future coach!! ;-)

Enjoy!

Position or Professional Title: Certified Professional Life Coach for Christian women

Business Location: Charlotte, NC (but can provide coaching services anywhere via phone or video)

Please give a description of your company and the products/services you offer:

I'm a life coach for Christian women who are ready to live their life in a way that honors what’s most important to them.

We live in a world of distractions and surface level interactions, and I provide 1:1 coaching for my clients so that they can transform from overwhelmed to overjoyed.

I help my clients to prioritize their lives so that they can spend time on what they care about most. And perhaps most important of all, they’ll be honoring God and serving others in the process. This allows my clients to experience joy and fulfillment like never before.

Tell us about your background of your business and yourself:

My business is Grace Space Christian Coaching. I'm based in Charlotte, NC but coach clients from all over since coaching can be done in person, through phone, or video chat.

To explain a little more about coaching... coaching is future focused while counseling looks more at the past. Coaching clients are in a stable state, if you will, and just need some support to get unstuck and move forward.

Grace Space Christian Coaching, specifically, provides a safe, encouraging, and judgement free zone to explore those 'scary spaces.' I help my client understand what's going on in her life, and better listen to her voice and how God is directing her. Then, I partner with her to create a vision for her future that she is crazy excited about and motivated by. From there, we develop a customized plan of action to get her there so that she can successfully accomplish her goals.

I coach from a place where I ask powerful questions so that my client can arrive at the best solution for her. (It's about me asking questions vs. telling her what to do.) She knows herself best, and ultimately needs a partner to help her explore those tough spaces, challenge her, hold her accountable, and provide encouragement.

What inspired you to pursue your profession?:

It truly was God's timing.

Several years ago, I was at a point where I worked so hard to make big changes in my life and created what, on paper, was my "perfect" life. I had moved to a city I loved, was newly engaged, had pivoted my career. I was super proud that I'd transformed my life, but just wasn't as happy as I felt I should be. I realized that my relationship with Jesus needed to instead be my main priority. At that same time, in the span of two years I had worked for two companies back to back that were acquired, which created very unstable environments. I had always loved development and the idea of coaching, and with so much uncertainty in my day job, I thought... why not pursue coaching now? With these two instances colliding (my deepening fair and uncertainty in my career), I knew it was time to pursue my coaching certification and become a Christian coach.

There are two parts to what I do- the first 'secret' to success, if you will, is to remind my client of who we are in the Lord- that's when everything changes. Shifting that mindset and partnering with my clients to do so is transformational. Without making that shift myself, I wouldn't be where I am today. We have to grow in Him and have that faith.

Then, comes the action piece. Development has always been a passion and I knew my call was to help other women to better listen to God's voice and their own to create an intentional life where they make their biggest dreams come true, while keeping their faith at the center of the journey. I get my clients in the right head space and then we map out an action plan customized just for them.

Where do you see yourself in the near future?:

- Continuing to grow Grace Space Christian Coaching through 1:1 coaching (and maybe a group coaching program!)

- I love to write (check out my blog!), and hope to author a book one day

- Hope to speak on the topics of creating a life you love, spiritual growth, mindset, transitions

- Would love to create more free resources for my audience (check out my free guide to '5 Questions (and Bible Verses) to Navigate through Life's Challenges with Grace & Purpose"!)
