An Experience for Christian Entrepreneurs Craving Community: How to Build With Faith, Purpose & Community

Smiling woman in a blue patterned top sits on white front steps between green hedges by a brick-and-black iron gate.

The friendship, faith, and coaching that inspired Flourish — plus a simple method to hear God more clearly.

If you're a high-capacity woman who leads well, delivers on your goals, and holds a lot together, there's a good chance you are familiar with the quiet ache of doing it all alone. From the outside, you look like you've got it. On the inside, you're carrying more than anyone realizes — and there's no one in the room who fully gets it.

Here's the truth I've come to believe with my whole heart: you were never meant to build a God-sized life and business in isolation.

This post is a behind-the-scenes look at why I created Flourish, the Grace Space Christian Coaching Small Group Mastermind — and, more importantly, a taste of the kind of faith-deepening work we do inside it. Whether or not you ever join us, my prayer is that you walk away with practical tools to hear God more clearly and stop white-knuckling growth on your own.

1. You Were Never Meant to Build This Alone

Group coaching was not something I personally set out to do! I genuinely believed one-on-one coaching was the bread and butter of GSCC. But God had other plans.

The seed for Flourish was planted through a friendship. One of my closest friends — a fellow coach, a rare unicorn in her thirties doing this work with real experience and longevity — poured into me personally and professionally in a way that changed the trajectory of my business and my walk with God. We prayed for each other. We did life together. We welcomed our first babies within months of one another. A large part of why Grace Space Christian Coaching has grown the way it has traces straight back to our friendship.

Then she told me she and her husband were making a radical, faith-filled leap: moving out of the country to Costa Rica. (More than a year later, she and her husband are absolutely thriving there with their two boys- praise God!) I was overjoyed and heartbroken at the same time when hearing the news. But sitting with that mix of emotions, one thing became undeniable — the impact of our friendship had unlocked something in me that never would have been possible on my own. And I wanted to give that same gift to other women.

That's the heartbeat of Flourish. It's iron sharpening iron, alive. It's the growth that only happens when Kingdom-minded women lock arms — sharing conversations that help you see what you can't see alone — paired with real coaching support from someone trained to help you go deep. Scripture promises that God will do more than we can ask or imagine, and this kind of community feels like exactly that.

A question to sit with: What would change in your work and your life if you were surrounded by women who love Jesus deeply AND love accomplishing big, God-sized goals?

2. Learn to Recognize God's Voice the Way Experts Spot a Counterfeit

One of the core pillars of Flourish is faith — because everything else flows out of that. So in a recent gathering, one of our Bible study leaders shared a picture that has stuck with me.

Bank employees, she explained, aren't trained to spot counterfeit money by studying fakes. They're trained by studying real currency so closely, so intimately, that a counterfeit becomes obvious the moment it shows up.

The same is true for us. The more time we spend with God and His Word, the easier it becomes to recognize His voice and His leading. And when error or a lie tries to speak into our lives, we can tell almost instantly that it isn't from Him. The goal isn't to become an expert in every deception — it's to become so familiar with the real thing that the counterfeit can't fool you.

3. The HEAR Method: Letting Scripture Actually Soak In

If you tend to read Scripture quickly and move on, this simple tool will help it land. It's an acronym — HEAR — and I recently walked our Flourish sisters through it using Proverbs 3:1–12, that beautiful passage that reminds us to trust the Lord with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding.

Here's how it works. Read a passage slowly, then filter it through these four steps:

  • H — Highlight. What word or phrase jumps out at you? What's being emphasized?

  • E — Explain. What does this reveal about God? About people? How does it move you to know and love Him better?

  • A — Apply. How are you being called to shift the way you think or act? What truth do you need to embrace?

  • R — Respond. Talk to God about it. Ask Him to help you live out that truth through His power.

Try it with Proverbs 3:1–12 this week. You don't have to tackle all four steps at once — pick just one, hold it in your mind as you read, and let it guide how you walk out your day.

4. Seven Questions to Deepen Your Walk With God

Here's a bonus from one of our Flourish sessions — seven coaching questions designed to strengthen your faith and help you hear God more deeply. Grab a notebook and sit honestly with each one:

  1. What beliefs are getting in the way of intimacy with Christ? Is it shame? A feeling that it's too late, or that you've been too inconsistent? An all-or-nothing mentality? A fear of not doing it "right"? Name it and shine light on it.

  2. What habits are you engaged in that aren't life-giving? Not from a place of shame — shame is from the enemy; God convicts, He doesn't condemn. What is it time to prune?

  3. When do you experience the deepest connection with God? Is there a certain environment or rhythm that fosters it? Consider how you might honor that in fresh ways — worship, journaling, a prayer group, community. What is He nudging you to lean into further?

  4. How might you more fully present yourself to God? More time? Your first fruits? A deeper level of emotion or more of your honest thoughts?

  5. What daily (or weekly) question could you plug into for connection with Christ? It can be as simple as, "How did I hear God speak today?" Imagine asking that for thirty days and filling a notebook with recorded moments with Him.

  6. What would it look like for this to be easy? What if you approached your walk with lightness, joy, and expectancy instead of pressure?

  7. What kind of accountability would be genuinely supportive for you? A tracker? An alarm? Meeting with someone? Growing alongside a friend?

When you're done, choose one thing you feel convicted to explore — and display this commitment somewhere you'll see it every day.

You don't need to work harder, add another planner, or spiritualize your striving. The shift that actually changes things is quieter than that: from overexertion & isolation to trust in God & community rooted in Him. When you know His voice, let His Word soak in, and link arms with women pursuing Him faithfully, growth stops feeling like something you have to force. It becomes something you get to walk out — supported, rooted, and free.
