Are you on track the way you hoped to be for this year, or do you need a reset?
Maybe you were excited about the fresh start that a new year brings, but you're not quite making the progress you expected.
If that's you, you're in the right place.
We're officially through the first quarter of 2026, the first 90 days of the year. And now is one of the very best times to take inventory.
By the end of this post, you're going to be positioned to get focused and go deep in the areas that matter and that God is calling you to.
Why Pausing Is Productive
One of my favorite quotes is this: "Pausing is productive."
As achievers, that might feel so counterintuitive and backwards. I get it. But really, the idea of slowing down so that you can speed up is transformational.
Each month in 2025, I set aside a simple 30 minutes to complete a scorecard for my business. It included core KPIs and big picture questions like what's working well and what isn't. (If you're a GSCC client and want a template- I got you!)
This reflection exercise created clarity on where to move forward and how to do it well. And that's when exponential growth came —we're talking through this discipline, the number of GSCC clients served last year tripled.
Success came through this practice of slowing down.
Why These Questions are Worth Answering
I've been serving clients through Grace Space Christian Coaching for over 10 years now. Prior to that, I spent about ten years in corporate HR and leadership development. And in addition to multiple coaching certificates, I also hold a master's in human resource development.
Goal setting is in my DNA. It's who God created me to be.
I remember sitting in church as a little girl, planning and having fun dreaming with God and feeling alive in that space. I've been devoted to using a planner since middle school. Personality assessments, thinking about how God has uniquely wired and created us to serve and bless others, this has always lit me up.
And to think God is at the center of it all? That's the best.
So if you're thinking, "Oh my goodness, planning and growth and goals in a God-centered way - you are speaking my love language," you are in the right place!
The 10 Faith Based Coaching Questions to Reset Your Year
So let's get to it. Here are 10 powerful faith-based coaching questions to help you focus on what matters most and make meaningful progress:
1. How have you been blessed in this past quarter?
Start with gratitude. Begin there.
Notice how God has been showing up. What does that look like? What do you want to offer praise for?
2. What lessons did the Lord teach you in the first three months of the year?
Don't let these moments be wasted. Take time to reflect and process.
Also- there no place for shame.
This time is for recognizing what happened, considering what you can do differently, and moving forward with strength and confidence because of that.
3. How did God show up in an unexpected way?
What did you—as a planner (I know you!)—totally not anticipate or expect, but it happened?
Maybe it's something that you're super grateful for. Maybe it was not expected, but you're so thankful that it happened.
How are you different because of it?
4. What is the wisest decision you've made thus far this year?
See what's standing out and notice why it matters.
5. What is He calling you to let go of after these first 90 days?
What do you know that you know that you know that it's time to release?
If you're going to do something, you're going to go all in and go all the way. You want to do all the things and do them all perfectly. I know.
If that's you and you're having a hard time operating differently, one of the books I recommend to clients is Essentialism. In a nutshell, it highlights that that you can go so much further, faster when you focus on one core thing. Life changing.
And- a key component to the Grace Space Christian Coaching method.
So if you're an overachiever who is trying to do all the things, consider: What is He calling you to let go of? What is it time to release and surrender to Him?
6. Where is the Lord leading you? What experience is He calling you to say yes to?
Create space for that.
It's okay (it's probably better) if you have no idea how your big idea(s) is going to be accomplished. Because when it is, it's going to put His power and His glory and His might on display.
You're going to need to develop a deeper intimacy and trust and connection with Him.
7. What values are you called to emphasize?
What is most important to how you're operating this year? What's your legacy?
What are core values that are essential to you?
What would it look like to emphasize them as you look ahead?
8. What strengths is He calling you to amplify?
He created you with specific strengths in mind.
I heard someone recently share that He knew in advance the challenges you were going to walk through, and He divinely deposited in you the exact strengths that you need to walk through the hard.
I don't know about you, but that makes me emotional. Your gifts are like a carefully curated love note from God.
What would it look like to recognize those strengths? To steward those talents well?
9. What beliefs will support the goals He has given you?
How are your beliefs perhaps in misalignment? Where are you partnering with lies rather than truth?
Think about the beliefs that are required to go where He's calling you to go, and get serious about tapping into them.
10. Over time this quarter, one of the best decisions I will make is what?
Have fun answering this one!
When you make space to be quiet, see what comes up. And let that be the filter through which you operate in this upcoming spring season.
